Making A Difference
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
We were the first to secure an AED (automated external defibrillator) at East Iberville School.
We give $500.00 scholarships to the valedictorians of each graduating class of East Iberville High School and MSA-East.
We participate yearly in the Halloween Get Together that is sponsored by the City of St. Gabriel as well as the Annual Christmas Toy Drive.
We give a needy family in our community a $100 gift card at Thanksgiving.
Through the Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF joined forces to eliminate neonatal tetanus, a disease that steals the lives of 34,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. Further, we work with other Kiwanis Clubs in the "Shoes for Shots" program.
We assist needy families in our community and offer educational tutoring & reading literacy programs.
